I Won’t be Speaking at an Intelligence Conference

March 14, 2017

★★Recently, I was asked to be Keynote Speaker at an Intelligence Conference in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

While I wouldn’t mind enjoying a free vacation in the Great Smoky Mountains, I told organizers that they would not like to hear what I would say about the course of the modern Intelligence Community.

Even 50 years ago when I was an analyst, NSA occupied the second largest building in the DC area with the longest unobstructed hallway in the world. Since then, NSA Headquarters expanded and in addition, just the NSA Data Center in Utah is 7 times larger than the Pentagon and 15 times larger than MetLife Stadium, home to the New York Giants and Jets. That’s just one of dozens of facilities around the globe.

The Utah facility electric bill is $40 million a year and you would not like to pay their water bill since they use 1.7 million gallons a day. Oops, you and I are paying their bills.

Every day, the NSA intercepts and stores 1.7 billion emails, phone calls, texts and other electronic communications. That’s equivalent to 138 million books every 24 hours.

In addition to legalizing President Bush’s warrantless wiretapping program, the 2008 FISA Amendments Act gave telecommunications companies retroactive immunity for disclosing Americans’ communications. The Obama warrantless wiretapping, in my opinion, is the Bush program on steroids. We don’t know for sure since the corrupt media was big on exposing the Bush transgressions but they are equally determined to cover-up all of the Obama Administration’s corruption.

When probed by Congressional Intelligence Committees about surveillance under the amended law, intelligence officials admitted the agency had been engaged in “significant and systemic overcollection” of American’s domestic communications. Government reports confirm that the USA has violated FISA, but the USA refuses to release information about these abuses.

It would be one thing if all this eavesdropping would have prevented war after war after war or terrorist attack after terrorist attack, but, alas, it DID NOT. There is so much data that I suspect Intelligence Officials barely have time to dig through information that will help them profit from mergers and acquisitions, learn how much the dividend will be on a certain stock or damage the President of the United States and his Cabinet?

I can tell you one thing for certain; Congress, the News Media, 93% of the DC bureaucrats, most Federal Judges and about half of the American people, DO NOT WANT PRESIDENT TRUMP TO DRAIN THEIR SWAMP!

“The Hanging Judge” Isaac Parker brought law and order to Indian Territory and Fort Smith during the 1800’s but he died in 1896. The only thing standing between America and total anarchy is President Donald J. Trump. As for me and my house, we will back our President.

ARE YOU OBLIVIOUS TO THE PERIL WE FACE?

Terrorist Attacks against American interests began when George Washington was President when the Islamic Barbary Pirates repeatedly ambushed U.S. merchant ships transiting the Mediterranean Sea. During the intervening 235 years our government has grown exponentially and created a huge intelligence community.

The best I can determine, our intelligence organizations are very methodical. They spy on United States Senators, especially members of the Intelligence Committee. They spy on Corporate CEOs, Governors, Tea Party leaders, stock traders, billionaires and law abiding citizens of all socioeconomic levels. I’m just not sure how they miss every single terrorist attack? How did they fail to see the fall of Yemen or the rise of the Islamic State?

NSA alone occupies a building larger than the Pentagon outside DC and just built a 1.5 million square foot Intelligence Community Comprehensive National Cybersecurity Initiative Data Center in Utah. Just the electricity for that building will cost $40 million a year. Hey Al Gore, I now know what causes global warming! According to Edward Snowden, the project was initially known as the Massive Data Repository but NSA felt the name was too “creepy” and changed it. I know it is hard for football fans to comprehend the magnitude of the Utah facility. It is 15 times the size of MetLife Stadium, home to the New York Giants and Jets.

Along with the Utah facility, NSA just opened its nearly 700,000 square foot Texas Cryptologic Center in San Antonio and has other centers in places like Hawaii. Together they are seven times the size of the Pentagon. How big is the Pentagon you ask? The U.S. Capitol could fit into just one of the building’s five sides, and with 5,100,000 square feet, it has twice the office space of the Empire State Building. The Pentagon has twice as many restrooms as it needs because it was built with separate restrooms for whites and blacks along with separate cafeterias.

Remember, NSA is just one of the Federal Intelligence organizations, here is a list:

Office of the Director of National Intelligence
Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)
Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA)
National Security Agency (NSA)
National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA)

Just the coffee consumed in these bureaucracies would float an Aircraft Carrier. Do you feel safe? The Director of National Intelligence and the Director of NSA testified to Congress that their work had foiled several terrorist attacks. When pressed for specifics, they told Congress they would get back to them. In the end, I don’t believe they could come up with a single one, certainly none of these:

The Shoe Bomber
Beltway Sniper Shootings
Fort Hood Shootings
The underwear Bomber
U-S.S. Cole Bombing
Boston Marathon Bombing
Pan-Am flight #93 Bombing

Do you ever wonder why we need all these intelligence agencies while the rest of the Defense Department is being gutted and demolished? Why we have behemoth facilities while we scrap the weapon most feared by the Islamic State, the A-10 Thunderbolt II affectionately called the Warthog? Why is it more important to spy on law abiding United States Citizens than to spy on our sworn enemies? The cost of Gitmo seems to be an issue but the sky is the limit when it comes to other facilities and welfare for the illegal masses.

The other Super Power, Russia, has these four Intelligence Organizations:

Federal Security Service (FSB)
Federal Protective Service (FSO)
Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU)
Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR)

Surrounded by hostile countries vowing to end their existence, Israel has these:

Mossad
Shin Bet
Aman
Police of Israel

Before the United States of America cuts one more combat unit or scraps one more tactical or strategic weapon system, can we consolidate our Intelligence efforts and focus on the bad guys or is that idea too radical? More than 50 years ago I was an Intelligence Analyst and my Air War College Diploma is dated December 22nd, 1976. I didn’t just fall off a turnip wagon. I expect much better leadership from my government at all levels than I am receiving. It would also be nice if the smiley faces on Broadcast Journalism would start reporting the news and alerting citizens of the danger for a change. I know securing the border after probably 100,000 to 2 million terrorists are already here is like closing the barn door after the horse escaped but it would be a start. We have to start someplace or EVERY man, woman and child in America will become a refugee if we are not killed first. Mayday, mayday, mayday!

Is U.S. Intelligence a Bad Joke?

September 20, 2013

The tax money spent on Intelligence is classified but you can get the flavor by looking at NSA Headquarters outside of Washington DC. It is larger than the Pentagon. A new one million square foot facility is opening in Utah this month. Intelligence is huge with legions of unionized bureaucrats whiling away the hours in palatial conditions on our dime.

With that kind of expenditure I would expect a modicum of results. I would expect that the Khobar Towers bombers would have been well known by our Intel Community well in advance. In fact, even after 19 US Air Force personnel were killed and 372 were injured 17 years ago, our Intelligence still don’t even know who did it!

Thirteen years ago the USS Cole was attacked in the Yemen port of Aden, 17 Armed Forces Personnel were killed and 39 were injured. Al Qaeda claimed to be the attacker but our Intel Community can’t say for sure.

Attack after attack after attack with impunity. You would think our Intelligence organizations would know every single member of Al Qaeda, their relatives, what they had for breakfast, what they watched on TV (Probably MSNBC) and what they plan to attack next.

Our government knows the size of YOUR underwear and demands to know the content of YOUR prayers. Our government is providing arms to Al Qaeda while working 24/7 to take YOUR gun away from you. What will it take to make you angry?

All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. Ladies and gentlemen, we can no longer afford to do nothing. Somehow we must get a day’s work for a day’s pay from our government. We must demand the security we’re paying for including border and coastline security. We must get involved and we must do it today!

Is NSA a Total Failure?

July 26, 2013

NSABlog

Has NSA become just another giant Union scam? What does NSA know about Benghazi, Fast & Furious, missing Russian Nukes and Nerve Gas in the Middle East?

Just two years ago Libyan dictator Muammar Qaddafi was overthrown leaving 20,000 Soviet shoulder-fired surface to air heat-seeking missiles known as “MANPADS” to be plundered. NSA was not only oblivious to the events in Libya, they also have no idea what happened to those deadly missiles. If most of those missiles and Soviet Suitcase Nukes have not been smuggled into the U.S. it is ONLY because terrorists don’t want them here. We have NO BORDER SECURITY!

NSA knows your underwear size. They know where you drove your car today. They know what you posted on Facebook and Twitter, texted to your wife and emailed to your friends. And they’ve done it all in the supposed interest of “national security.”

If, however, you were an Al Qaeda terrorist coordinating a large-scale Abu Ghraib Prison break to free senior members of your mid-east terror organization sentenced to death, you would have been able to operate with impunity. NSA also lost track of the blundering Boston bombers who murdered and maimed people at the heart of the Boston Marathon, the Terrorist Doctor who infiltrated the U.S. Army & murdered 14 innocent people at Fort Hood, the 911 Terrorists who were trained to fly in the United States and 20,000 to 100,000 illegal aliens from Iran, Yemen, Somalia, Libya and other Terrorist Countries who infiltrated America and live among us.

It is clearly time for the unionized bureaucrats at NSA to give us a day’s work for a day’s pay and stop spying on law abiding citizens and get busy with their mission of foreign intelligence and counterintelligence and stop being just another money pit!

Polls show that the majority of Americans do not approve of unconstitutional NSA domestic spying. The majority of congressional Democrats voted to cut funding for domestic spying against the wishes of the Obama administration. I was stunned when congressional Republicans voted to continue this abuse including three out of the four Arkansas congressman! Beam me up Scotty!!!

HEART TO HEART TALK ABOUT U.S. SECURITY

October 6, 2012

I would like to have a heart to heart talk with you about the security of the United States. You have seen our citizens killed on our soil and abroad. You see intrusive security measures at airports and federal buildings. You are aware of intelligence organizations including the National Security Agency, Central Intelligence Agency, Defense Intelligence Agency and the Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence to mention a few. Billions of dollars are spent on security, yet we are anything but secure.

I once had a Security Squadron under my command with Air Base Security Forces, Security Police and Law Enforcement personnel. Fifty years ago I was an Intelligence Analyst at NSA but my training was not really in security. I had something that was lacking in my Air Base Security Squadron Commander, I had common sense. We had an exercise and my Squadron Commander concentrated his forces on the main gate. I called him aside and asked him if we were prepared for the enemy to penetrate through the ditch at the back of the base. You can see the same mentality today with Airport Security, Federal Building Security and so forth. There are lots of ways to get into a Federal Building besides the front door. A lot of people have access to Airliners who never go through the TSA. When we concentrate our security at airports and Federal Buildings, what about Bus Stations, Train Stations, Schools, Hospitals, fuel storage and Sports Arenas?

The major failing of US security is the failure to protect our borders and coastline. The Commandant of the Coast Guard once told me that if they tripled the size of his organization they still could not protect our 92,000 miles of coastline. The terrorists are already here and they are here in force. The paths leading from the Mexican Border are many and broad. Along those pathways discarded Iranian books have been found. I estimate that at least 30,000 illegal aliens are in the US from Yemen, Iran, Syria, the Sudan, Libya, Egypt, Somalia and Afghanistan. They did not sneak into the US to pick apples. They have not attacked our electric grid and fuel storage because the time is not right, not because we have armed guards at Social Security Offices.

I predict that when the terrorists attack it will be broad and massive, perhaps even nuclear. Remember there are Russian Suitcase Nukes that cannot be accounted for. You will hear Liberal Cabinet Members saying citizens don’t need assault rifles to go hunting. The Constitution doesn’t give us the right to bear arms to go squirrel hunting. Japan opted not to attack our homeland during WWII for only one reason, an armed citizenry.

The terrorists probably have not been in a hurry to attack because the Obama Administration has been doing a pretty good job of weakening America. Admiral Mullen as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said our debt was the single biggest threat to our national security. Other existential threats include the Russian Nuclear Weapons and Cyber Attacks. Vladimir still does not love us, to Muslims we are the Big Satan and Israel is the Little Satan and to China we are their useful idiots.

It is incumbent upon each of us to be vigilant. While our government stands guard over Social Security Offices we must be alert for possible enemy activity. A few years ago one of my friends observed a Middle Eastern man taking pictures of a hospital, not in New York or Washington, DC but in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He followed the man and got pictures of him and his license number. The man got away. He was later identified as one of the most wanted terrorists. They are here and they can be anywhere. If you don’t have an assault rifle maybe you should get one.
